Some function inside minified sugar_grp1_yui.js tries to parse an ajax response, but it is not in the expected format, probably due to some exposed php NOTICE/WARNING. Make sure you are looking at correct php error log. You can identify that log file through php_info.

This error could be happen if you have BOM on your file. Could you check if some of the file edited are encoded with BOM. It could happen if your IDE use this format.

The error is each Sugar 6.5.26:

The error is thrown by an XSS check in module  include/utils.php in function securexsskey.

No idea why this happens now, but with the following (absolutely unsecure) patch the function will work again.

This check is controlled by the php.ini setting  mbstring.encoding_translation.

To make it fly just set

mbstring.encoding_translation = 1

in php.ini, then you do not need the patch above.
