Quote Worksheet

Hi all - Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the quote worksheet? My company is a service provider and the quote worksheet doesn't necessarily align with how we price our business. We will be using the Quote module for other reasons and to reduce confusion among our end users, I'd like to remove it. Thank you in advance!

  • Hi Armena,

We had the same "issue" with the standard Sugar Modules - Our business module doesn't match the way some of the modules are designed - especially Quotes.  You can "disable" modules and the visibility of components within the Roles function...

Our "solution" was repurposing a few modules, and we don't use two of them including the Quotes Module.  We have no custom code and everything was done using Studio.  We have processes that send emails, set dashboard notices, etc.

Our repurposing of the Opportunities module to "Requests" (which includes quote requests, requests for samples, and marketing material requests) provided all the links we needed to Accounts, Contacts, Products, etc.  A process was written to control the approval and notification activity.

FYI: The Cases Module repurpose gave us some purchasing integration, and we use the repurposed Bugs Module for Returned Goods Authorizations and Freight Claims.  We repurposed the Contracts Module to what we call "Future Orders" since orders aren't entered until 30 days before the anticipated shipping date.

SugarCRM is a GREAT product and the customization without writing code allows us to stay "standard" and take advantage of every new release.
