Custom module with existing database table

What is the meaning for that? What is the story behind?

I have a requirement to display the opportunities  records in two different custom module based on the value in a field.For that my plan to create 2 custom module and pulls data from the same database table of opportunities module.

I take it you cant just use a filter or teams for this?

Making a second module that displays the Opportunity table is easy, but there are other questions to answer before the best method can be arrived at.

What version of SugarCRM are you using?

Will people be adding records to this second module or is it view only?

Thanks for your update.

The version is 7.9 and I need to display the records no need to add records from the second module.

Try changing "table" variable inside module's vardefs.php file.

e.g. 

$dictionary['Account'] = array(
'table' => 'accounts',
