Assigning to a group user

I have created a group user. I can assign to the group on the calendar, however you can only have one primary person rather than everyone in the group, therefore only one person gets updates or notifications. can all group members receive notifications?

Also when assigning notes to the group only the primary person can see it and not the group – is there a way that everyone in a group can be assigned notes?
