If the contact has been created and assigned to another user, then the plugin on my outlook says 'user not found'. Is there any way to resolve this?

Can you see the Contact in the Sugar application itself?
If not, then it could be that you are not in the Team that this Contact is assigned to. For instance, here is a Contact assigned to the Confidential Team and I have to be part of that Team to see this record:

Thanks for the response. Yes, I can see the contact within the application itself; we don't use the teams functionality - everyone is part of the 'global' team so theoretically should be able to see everything.
I'm at a loss!
Hmmm, what versions of Sugar OPI, Outlook and SugarCRM are you running?
