I want to add a currency field that shows the amounts of to other fields. How?
First you will need to create a currency field in Studio. You can review how to do this by reading the following documentation.
Studio Fields Documentation
Once the field is created, you will then need to create a Sugar Logic formula that adds the two fields together, using the add() function. Please note that both of these fields should be of the same field type, otherwise you will likely need to manipulate the data format.
I created a quick video of how to do this. I first created a currency field in Opportunities named derp_c. The formula for that field adds two other currency fields together and displays the value. I added amount and amount_usdollar together.
Once the field is created with the formula, I added it to the Recordview layout. Please note that to calculate records that have already been saved, you must first Edit > Save them; I show this towards the end of the video. Or, you may have the option to select a number of records in the Listview and select Recalculate Values to update this field quickly for a large number of records.
Hope this helps!
This is what I´ve done so far:
This works fine as long as all three values are positive.
But sometimes when you renegotiates an agreement one of the value can be negative. We have a normal currency field for that ( $reducedrevenue_c) We register the amount we but an –(minus) before the amount to show the loss.
When I later on wants to sum the three fields to a gross amount I don´t get anything.
1. Must I do something in $reducedrevenue_c so it can mange a negative value?
2. How do I write the formula so I get the sum of 2 positive fields and 1 negative?
