How can you filter a report to exclude ex-users?

I'm running an Opportunity report for YTD that contains records for users who are no longer with the company. I want to filter them out of the report but I cannot do so because they are not listed in the Username pick list. Is there any way to filter them out?

Hi Paul Grim , in the "Define Filters" section of the report creation you can add a filter for users whose status is Active. Then you get only records for active users. See the attached picture for details.
