Migration from Sugar On-Premise to On-Demand

Sarika Tandale - Instances need to be upgraded to a supported version of Sugar (7.8 for another two weeks, or 7.9 from now until November) before a migration to cloud, and the database will need to be provided in MySQL format. So the upgradation to 7.x is mandatory ? Is there a way to avoid this upgradation and directly migrate the sugar 6 instance to cloud?

Yes, it is mandatory. There are a variety of reasons for this, but one of the primary reasons is that our cloud servers are on platforms that are not supported with 6.5 versions of Sugar. After a move to cloud, we will keep your instance on the most recent release of Sugar (currently Winter '18) moving forward so you will receive the latest in feature and security updates. We also have a variety of resources available through our Support and Training sites to help you and your team familiarize yourself with 7.x. 

If you need assistance performing the upgrade to 7.9, there are also resources available from our partners and other channels to assist you with this, and we can help facilitate that conversation if needed.

Hope I'm not too late. Anyway, I'll drop my answer here just in case someone else will struggle the similar issue.

It is possible to transfer SugarCRM On-Premise to On-Demand automatically using 3rd party service Data2CRM. 

You may switch a part of the information from On-Premise to On-Demand edition for free by running Demo Migration and see if it works for you well.
