Field changes criteria in the start event of an advanced workflow

Question

Hi,

I have created an advanced workflow where a field change should trigger a task to be created, however, it isn't working.

The workflow works without this criteria, as well as with criteria that aren't the three field changing ones (changes, changes to, changes from). Is there something I am missing here, or are there any known bugs with these criteria? I am using them on a dropdown field.

I am using Sugar version 7.9.1.0

We do have an open Defect for this issue: https://web.sugarcrm.com/support/issues/80010

Currently our work-around would be to use the 'equals' options when building your criteria.

Alternatively, you could build an empty Start Event, then add a 'Receive Message' event, which would be based on a field changing to a new value. However, the downside with this approach is that a new Process would be opened for every record that met the Start Event criteria, which could lead to performance problems, depending on scaling.
