OPI: Communication server error

Kristjan Geir Mathiesen - A few places to start would be:

•  Check the permissions/roles of the users receiving this error?
  • Assuming this only affects regular users and not admins, are the regular users tied to any roles disabling or limiting their access to fields or modules that may be used by the OPI?
• Is a correlation of this error to specific module or modules, and if the module is custom versus stock?
• Any errors in the OPI error log?

Not an answer, but at least a few things that might help!

After a little looking into, it seem´s that this error message comes when an email that has the "new fashion" yellow smiley (not the plain old : )  ) in it:

which Sugar db can´t archive at this time except converting it into utf8mb4 which is not supported with Icelandic (see partly in this thread). I wonder if that is the only reason this error comes (i.e. OPI could not archive: "Error inserting into table: emails_text: Query Failed: INSERT INTO emails_text") - do you know?
