Sugar Reports: include data from flex-related Parents

Can you clarify your report ? because, if you use a flex relate, your main module can be link to several modules. So do you want to focus on a specific module and filter the relation with this module or do you want to manage data from any module that should be linked to your main module ?

I would be happy to focus a report on a specific parent.

E.g. all records in custom module whose parent is a Contact and were created today.

Hi Francesca,

Unfortunately the standard Sugar Reports module does not offer the ability to drill down, when it comes to flex relate field. So this is not achievable using the standard sugar reports however you could create an advanced SQL report, if you had Sugar Enterprise.

I feared as much, we are on Professional, so I'll have to achieve this through APIs and our own software to generate the necessary reports.

And why don t you create a relationship with your contact module  (and hide the subpanel if you want) and populate this relation with a hook?

That's an option but in our scenario, it's overkill (I would have to do that for each of the possible flex-related modules). It's easier for me to build an API and use our own products to run the reports internally.
