We are setting up a high availability environment (active and passive setup) with a load balancer behind it using haproxy. One of my concern is how to handle the switching of CRON during failover?
There seem to be a couple discussions out there around this question, see
linux - How to perform cron jobs failover? - Server Fault
linux - How to make cronjobs high available? - Server Fault
And one tool that is repeatedly mentioned is rcron - Pacemaker and Corosync is another approach mentioned. This could be a starting point to check for your needs, have you been coming across those already?
Thank you for the prompt response. Yes. I already came across with Pacemaker but i haven't tried it yet.
I will try the suggestions from the discussions that you gave. Thanks again.
