I wrote a sample script to extend the Redis caching to support auth here: Custom implementation of Sugar redis cache, using authentication

To deploy it

  1. use the path: "custom/include/SugarCache/CustomSugarCacheRedis.php"
  2. add on config_override.php $sugar_config['external_cache']['redis']['auth'] = '<your redis auth password>';
  3. repair the system, so that Sugar picks up the custom file

If you need Redis to ALSO store sessions, on php.ini add:

  1. session.save_handler=redis
  2. session.save_path="tcp://<hostname>:<port>?auth=<auth>"
