Global Search does not work properly when a user performs a "Quick Search". SugarCRM fails with a "HTTP: 500 Internal Server Error".
We have not added any custom module in global search but we have enabled global search for some custom fields which are created in the default modules(Leads, Contact, etc). This error occurs randomly which might indicate that it could be an issue in the data.
When we re-index all the records from Admin->Search->Schedule System Index, this issue gets resolved and every thing works fine but after some days/months, we start getting the same error again.
Resolving this issue by re-indexing again and again does not appear to be the right approach. can someone suggest a solution?
