What information would you like to render on each column? The total amount of Opportunties in each month?
Here is an example
Then from dropdown at right side of "Opportunities > Expected Close Date" select the option "This Year"
In the next pages you may choose whether a chart must be rendered and the finally you can set a name to new report.
