$dictionary['Lead']['fields']['optout_primary']['massupdate'] = 1;
but no effect....
finally i have done.........
$dictionary['Lead']['fields']['lead_status']['massupdate'] = true;
$dictionary['Lead']['fields']['lead_status']['massupdate'] = false;
you can add only drop down Field.
go to admin---> repair -->quick repair
There are different approach to assign Mass Update.
Once check this link Adding a Field to Mass Update.

You can also try removing the field from the mass update by extending the vardefs
and setting 'massupdate' => false,

Did you follow the document which i suggested.
Tell me the file path in which you are adding the code, also tell me is a custom field or default field and field type.
If it is a custom field then your field name should be optout_primary_c not optout_primary.
default and custom both file-

Are you doing this for Contract module or Lead module ?

On what module you are doing this changes.

Did you try checking the checkbox Mass Update from studio for the respective field or not.

Also, are you sure about your fieldname? It looks like a custom field, I would expect it to be optout_primary_c
