Formula: Days since record was last updated

I ran this exact formula and it worked as expected. Are you putting the formula in an Integer field? If so, try doing just the following and see if it gives you the expected result: daysUntil(now())

Ok, so I made a field of type Integer. Here it is:

That´s where this formula is: abs(subtract(daysUntil($date_modified),daysUntil(now())))

Wait, are you saying I should make a "Today" field of type Integer and put that formula in

Then have another (like the "Days Since Last Update" above), and have the diff formula caluclate and display in this second one on the two date fields?

My last suggestion was to try to break down where the issue might be. Let's start with this: are you still getting a blank value with that formula in an Integer field?

Did you edit the record after applying the formula? Calculated fields require the record to be edited in order to be updated.

Aha, no I didn´t. Ok now I´ve got 0 in the "Today Field." Great, thanks for this Alan. Much appreciate!

One more thing, if calculated fields require an update on the record, then there isn´t really any use case for "Days since last update," now is there? (rhetorical question)

Your formula will work however there is a limitation of this field, which is that it will only calculate the number of days each time you save the record. By this I mean that if you save the record today, and then go and look at it a week later, it will still have the number of days from the first save. This means that if you are using this for reporting on then it will not provide you with an ever-updating list of records. Also on top of this, surely when you save the field to trigger the calculation this will then change the date modified to today, so it will surely always just show that there is no difference between the Data Modified and today's date.

If you are trying to use this for reporting purposes so that you can ensure you make contact with them, then it may be easier to simply use the Date Modified field (or create a field such as Last Called that gets set via a workflow).
