I just wanted to chime in on this thread. The connector that's available thru Mulesoft Anypoint Exchange is about to be tested and I am happy to let anyone know how solid it is.
I have some interest rewriting a newer connector for Mulesoft for the newer API V10, but one thing that is nice about the older version is that it still works for the 6.x platform and the newer v7 platform as well (with limitation).
If anyone is interested knowing how the above works, I am happy to share my experience.
In answer to above, Mulesoft can create one or many records via the API or if needed, directly thru the database.
Hi Michael Joyner
Can you please share your experience ?

Recently I was using the webhooks to send to ActiveMQ message queue and have Mule pull messages from the Queue. In other words, if there was a new Account the webhooks would send the JSON and enqueue it.
From the Mule side, I would use the REST v4_1 interface (Mule connector) to update the CRM as it would receive messages from other endpoints.
With Mule, there really are no limits (so to speak) for integrations and wiring to SugarCRM.
