7.6 - Create Opportunity and RLI simultaneously - change available RLI fields...?

We have recently upgraded to v7.6 of Sugar, and one of the great new features is the ability to create an Opportunity and its associated RLIs simultaneously.

However, I cannot see how you can change what fields are available when you create the RLI underneath the opportunity. For example, we do not use the "Best" and "Worst" value fields - we simply use "Likely".

Presumably there is somewhere I can change these fields in Studio...? If so, please can someone tell me where! It is in none of the obvious places...

Hello Philippa,

If you are looking to change the fields that display in the Revenue Line Items subpanel in Opportunities, you would navigate to Admin > Studio > Opportunities > Subpanels > Revenue Line Items.

If you are looking to change the fields that display when editing a Revenue Line Item, you would navigate to Admin > Studio > Revenue Line Items > Layouts > Record View.

Hi Dan,

Many thanks for your reply, however this does not resolve the issue.

Editing via Opps > Subpanels > RLIs will change the fields I see when I look at the RLI subpanel on an exisiting Opportunity record.

Editing via RLIs > Layouts > Record View changes the fields I see when I open a stand-alone RLI.

What I need to change is the view of RLIs you see when you create a new Opportunity:

For example, we do not use the out-of-the-box Forecast field, but we do have custom fields which need populating on an RLI.

Where do you customise this view in Studio?

I'm having the same problem. We don't use very many of these fields at all. While working on our 7.6.1 upgrade with Sugar Support, the agent mentioned that these fields cannot be customized, but there's a bug/feature enhancement in place to allow edits. I wasn't able to get that ticket number, but if I can find it, I'll come back and share it here.

Hi Christy,
The bug report for this issue can be found here. It is currently (tentatively) slated for a fix in 7.8, but that is subject to change. Also note that the bug report mentions a code customization that lets you modify this layout:
Layout appears to be defined explicitly via : /modules/RevenueLineItems/clients/base/views/subpanel-for-opportunities-create/subpanel-for-opportunities-create.php requiring a code-level customization, probably mirroring the custom files created when normal subpanel layout is edited for RLI on Opportunities, with changes in custom directory.

Hi Phillippa,
We have also been testing this in a recent 7.7.1 Enterprise system and also found that the revenue line item sub-panel cannot be edited for when you create a new Opportunity.
This is a real issue when most customers do not use the product catalogue or the best/worst currency fields. This was first logged by us last October, so it's a real surprise this has not yet been resolved. I will create an additional ticket now with SugarCRM to see if I can get an update.

Hi All,
The functionality highlighted here is not yet available in our application. I created the Configure the Revenue Line Item Layout When Creating an Opportunity idea to better gauge the desire of this feature. If you think this functionality would be useful, please vote on the idea so we can assess the potential impact of the feature. Please also add any comments to the idea on how you would like to see the feature implemented.
