This issue is likely related to Sugar not yet supporting OAuth 2, which is now required for Google's 2-step Verification. Sugar currently uses ClientLogin which has been deprecated by Google. However, we are scheduled to support OAuth 2 with the release of 220.127.116.11, which is our next planned 7.6 release. I would recommend that you follow our Releases category here in the community to be notified when this version is released, at which point you can upgrade to 18.104.22.168. After that, you should be all set!
I hope this helps,Alex
Hi James Banbury,
We upgraded ours on the same version as well.
Were you able to configure your connectors for google yet? If not, make sure that is properly configured first.
You can go to the admin page>connectors>set connector properties>google tab.
Once you have this setup, the external accounts tab under the user profile should show up google.
Hope this helps!
Hello Johannsen Quinio,

I spent the day trying to figure this out and your post was very helpful. Thanks! I also finally found Sugar Documentation on this item:
