subpanel: link to non-related module

In version 7.5.0.1, Professional Edition, is there any way to build a link from a subpanel to a module that is not directly related to the module which owns the subpanel? E.g., an employees name and id are customized attributes to Contacts (user_name, user_id); if the Contacts subpanel is called within Accounts view, I want to build a link to the Employee module, which has no direct relation to Accounts.

In Contacts viewdefs I included:

$viewdefs[$module_name]['base']['view']['list']['panels']['fields'][] =
(
array(    'link' => true,
    'name' => 'user_name',
    'target_record_key' => 'user_id',
    'target_module' => 'Employees',
    'label' => 'LBL_USER',
    'enabled' => true,
    'default' => true,
    'sortable' => false,
    'width' => '2%',
),

But the result is a link to Accounts module, not Employees.
