Delegate and Track Leads

Hello!  I've been hosting 1:1 sessions with my Sales Reps to help them get the most from Sugar, and Dave asked me a great how-to question.  Dave works closely with a specific Inside Sales/Market Development Rep, Garrin, and he'd like to assign a Lead to Garrin for follow-up.  In addition to assigning that Lead, Dave would like to be able to track which Leads he's assigned to Garrin to see their Status.

This is sort of a one-off request, and might not be worth the time for in-depth coding.  Off the top of my head, I could suggest that Dave star those Leads as favorites and use the pre-defined filter, or even a report dashlet to track their Status. But this doesn't really give Garrin the same ability to track all of the Leads assigned to him by Dave.  (Garrin gets scads of Leads from other sources.)

Has anyone encountered a similar situation, or have a suggestion for us to try?  Thanks for any brainstorming!
