Professional Email set up correct but still can't send emails

Email is set up correctly as clicking the test email button results in the test email being delivered to my email account. However, I can't send email to any contacts in SugarCRM. Attempting to send email to a contact results in "Error      There was an internal server error. Please try again." every time. SMTP endpoint is Office365, if that matters.

What am I missing?
