Cannot get inbound emails to populate in Email window - No evidence in debug logs

Problem: The Email window will not populate with any IMAP emails

I've got a new installation of SugarCRM 6.5.20. I haven't populated the DB with any information yet except a couple email settings and one user. I can successfully send emails from sugar, and I've successfully configured the IMAP inbound email settings. The "Test" feature for inbound emails returns "Connection Successful". I also have 3 *unread* emails sitting in this inbox for testing.

I've also changed the log level to debug and re-ran checking for new emails by going to the Emails windows and clicking on Check Mail, then read the logs. I don't see any evidence that it is making an IMAP connection. What I've searched for within the logs if the email address or username for the IMAP account. This returned empty, leading me to believe that sugar never made a correct and successful connection to my IMAP account.

Can anyone please provide some advice?
