How to notify people when inbound email is received?

Hi all,

My company currently uses a central sales@firm.com inbox and auto forwards all these emails to everyone in the sales team. Works OK for now, but not a scaleable solution.

We've recently moved to sugar (Sugar Professional 7.5.1.0) and I want to help (i) drive adoption and (ii) automatically capture our sales email.

What I need is to be able to trigger a notification email out to the sales team when a new email is received. They need to know ASAP that a request has come in, be able to review the details, and be provided a link to bring them back to the CRM for response.

Is it possible to trigger a workflow when a new emails is received? The only work around I can think of is to automatically create a case, and trigger the workflow based on the case being created. Do I have better options?
