Quotes sugarpdf.custom.php in Sugar7

In 6.2 to 6.5.x we had custom/modules/Quotes/sugarpdf.custom.php as an extension of QuotesSugarpdfQuotes with a crazy amount of manipulation and logic to print PDF Quotes as we needed them.

To my dismay I found today that these no longer work in v7.

Among other things in the custom sugarpdf I was hiding/showing lines from the original quote, adding amounts to show two line items as one, allowing for either a % or amount discounts, adding language from a custom module for terms and conditions based on some logic and much more.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep using the old sugarpdf creation files at least to get us to go-live with v7 and give us more time to address all this before Quotes goes full blown sidecar and/or suggestions on how to manipulate the items displayed in the Quote/Invoice via the new PDFManager?
