When u upload an image through image type field, some id is assigned to image and that id is stored in database and the image is stored in /upload folder, So, uploadimage, check table in database for a value of that field. Now for displaying that image, that id is retrieved and given to that image type field and it shows the image.
If you want to show it in any field in a module's detail view through HTML, let's assume, id of your image is 26d4347b-5e48-f3a6-56a6-54b75ad0a6b4 then you need the following HTML to render that image.
<img src="index.php?entryPoint=download&id=26d4347b-5e48-f3a6-56a6-54b75ad0a6b4&type=SugarFieldImage&isTempFile=1" style="border: 0; width: 50px;height: 50px; ">
