What happens to emails when the archive email can't find a contact?

When using the custom archive email (*****@sugarondemand.com), what happens if an email doesn't have a known contact associated with it? Does it go to some "Unrecognized" folder? As one of the admins of our sugar instance I want to know if allowing sales to use this will cause our system to bloat over time with "unknown To:" emails.
