Bounced Emails not Marked Invalid

I'm new to SugarCRM and I am starting to work with Campaigns.   I'm trying to figure out how bounce processing works.  I finally got Sugar to process a bounced campaign email but it didn't mark the email address as invalid.  Is this a bug.  What is suppose to happen when a bounce email is processed?

We are using SugarCRM On Demand Professional version 7.5.

I posted a related post here: Outlook365 Bounce Processing & ProcessBouncedEmails.php.  I got bounce processing to work by using a free SendGrid account.  However, I would still like my original questions answered.
