Session management with LDAP authentication

Question asked by Nick Nick on Dec 19, 2014
When using LDAP authentication against Active Directory, I noticed that there is no session cookie issued to the browser. How is session management done when using LDAP authentication?
Reason Session Management with LDAP authentication?

Besides curiosity, the reason for asking is that I experience session timeout issues that I couldn't solve with the usual methods such as increasing the php value session.gc_maxlifetime. The symptom is that when trying to log in, I see the small red progress bar never completing and in the logs I see the following error: "[ERROR] An exception happened: ( 401 Unauthorized: invalid_grant)The access token provided is invalid."

Any help is greatly appreciated.
