I have 16,000 records that I want to import into the Quotes module in my new SugarCRM OnDemand instance. I am new to everything. One suggestion I have gotten is to use fgetcsv to upload the data. I have no clue how to code the php through the REST API to get the data into the module. I am open to suggestions, tutorials, a place to find the code, a mentor...Thanks in advance!
There are other ETL tools that can be used too - but I've only had experience with this one.
Also, if the standard Talend sugar component isn't doing enough for you, the Cloudbee one has more features for working with relationships and customisations. Not free though:
Sugar's Quotes module does not include the standard import functionality available with most other modules. The architecture in Quotes is significantly different than other modules (such as Contacts or Accounts). Using other means that have been mentioned here (none of which I personally have experience with) are going to be your best option. If you would like to read up on API's to perform this yourself, our Developer Guide would be a good start.
