Why does Sugar hang when saving inbound email configuration?

We have filled in all fields for the Inbound Email settings page.  When we click save the system hangs as if its attempting to save but never finish saving.  After a while it returns with Error 500 Timeout Error.

Our system info is as follows:
Version:  7.2.2.2 (Build 1050)
Edition:  Professional
Platform:  Hosted
