How to extend bean functions in 7.2?

I'm using SugarCRM 7.2. I have written some functions directly on modules/Products/Product.php. But this is not an upgrade safe manner. So can anyone please help me on how can I move those functions to custom folder? Previously I've done it through controller.php but I'm not very much confident in Sugar 7.2 can anyone help me out please

Hello Samik,

Can you expand upon what those customizations are that were added to Product.php? The alternatives heavily depend on what you are trying to accomplish.

Thanks in advance for the help and sorry for late reply ... no I haven't had any luck till now. I have written some custom functions on ProductBundle module. Which are being called in Quotes detail view page. we are calling those functions from view.detail.php when we are fetching the relationship data. get_index(), get_bundle_product_indexes(), get_bundle_note_indexes(), from_product_categories_products(), get_product_bundle_line_items() these are the custom functions I have written in product bundle module in core file. we need to change it to make upgrade safe.

what I have tried is

1. created productBundle.php at custom/Extension/application/Ext/Include

2. put this code over there

$beanList['ProductBundles'] = 'ProductBundle';
$beanFiles['ProductBundle'] = 'custom/modules/ProductBundles/customProductBundles.php';

3. Repair Rebuild

in customProductBundles.php I have extended from main module like

include 'modules/ProductBundles/ProductBundle.php';
class customProductBundles extends ProductBundle {
function customProductBundle()
{
parent::ProductBundle();
$this->team_id = 1;
}
}

but its not calling the bean from custom ... if i echo some text its not reflecting .. but if i echo some text in modules/ProductBundles/ProductBundle.php its reflecting

Am I missing anything or this is not a right approach?

Hi, I have a similar problem. I have to replace the set_notification_body() method in the Meeting class.

No cache is running and I tried it

I added following to custom/application/Ext/Include/modules.ext.php (indirect by using quick repare ...):

$beanFiles['Meeting'] = 'custom/modules/Meetings/MeetingCustom.php';
$beanList['Meeting'] = 'MeetingCustom';
The MeetingCustom class is loaded, but not used, when I call "Send invitation": sugarcrm/data/SugarBean.php(2223): Meeting->set_notification_body(Object(XTemplate); (from exception trace).

I tried also:
$beanFiles['Meeting'] = 'custom/modules/Meetings/MeetingCustom.php';
$beanList['MeetingCustom'] = 'Meeting';
and

$beanFiles['MeetingCustom'] = 'custom/modules/Meetings/MeetingCustom.php';
$beanList['MeetingCustom'] = 'MeetingCustom';

Nothing works.

Got it!

$beanFiles['MeetingCustom'] = 'custom/modules/Meetings/MeetingCustom.php';
$beanList['Meetings'] = 'MeetingCustom';

The key in $beanList is the module name, the value refers the class configuration in $beanFiles.

The next issue was, that the e-mail template was lost. The association changed from Meeting to MeetingCustom. I copied the *.notify_template.html files to custom/include/language and changed Meeting to MeetingCustom.

Is there a way without copying the complete list oft e-mail templates?

Hi Guys,
For the Opportunity module I need to extend the function getClosedStages() this is exist in core file /modules/Opportunities/Opportunity.php
in this function I need to add more sales stages (Prospect, Qualified) with (Closed Lost, Closed Won) these 2 already exist out-of-the-box
Any help will be highly appreciable
