Inbound email auto import doesn't relate to contact

I'm using Sugar CE 6.5.16 and have setup a Group Mail Account that automatically imports emails into Sugar. When I send an email to one of my contacts, the Send email is stored in history and related to my contact. However, when I get a response back from my contact (and he's using the same email address as I have saved under my Contact in Sugar), the incoming email is not related to my contact, and therefore shows a blank field for contact in the history. Is there a way to automatically relate the incoming email to my contact, based on the email address of my contact?
