Why are the responses we receive by email not being logged in the history panel?

Hello, when I send an email to one of my contacts in Sugar, the email goes out fine and is logged in the 'History' panel. But when that person responds, his response is NOT recorded/archived in the 'History' panel. How can we fix this? We are using the Community version of Sugar CRM, version 6.5.0 RC3.
