Thanks for your comment, I was able to enable the forecasting module using those 2 values in sales stage.
However, we have custom values under 'sales_stage_dom' dropdown for opportunities, Is these any possibility to enable & configure the forecasting module without 'Closed Won' and 'Closed Lost' as sales stages?
The reason is that we have existing reports that are dependent on the old sales stage values.
As far as I know, 'Closed Won' and 'Closed Lost' are the only two database values that will correctly work for won/lost stages, where any other stage value I believe is considered to be still open in the forecast. It's possible that some coding customizations could extend this functionality to use custom stages, but I have not seen any.
While it may be a pain, you could migrate your custom sales stages to use those default database values and update your existing reports to get forecasts working. The display value shown to users could be set to anything, it just needs those specific database values.
Using custom stages in Forecasting would be great though, if anyone has found any solutions to do that, or perhaps might be a feature enhancement request.
Thanks, that is really helpful. We might look at the option to migrate custom sales stages to the default database values to ensure the existing report functionality
I will update this chat if our team comes across something that lets us add the custom stages. I agree either way this could be a future improvements in the coming versions.
