How can I include a contact's email address in a report?

This seems odd to me:

I am working on a way to export all contacts assigned to a user when the count exceeds the 1,000 record limit.

The column selection for the report does not include the email address.  I created another field (Second email address) and it appears in the selection for the report.

Is there a restriction specified someplace that email address cannot be exported?  I am logged on as the Administrator.
