Unable to configure outbound email in SugarCRM CE 6.5.16

Hi,

I have installed SugarCRM CE Version 6.5.16. And trying to
configure outbound email, but I am unable to do it.

I have tried (gmail, google business email, hotmail and Microsoft
business email) but none of these options worked. In every scenario I have got
same problem.

 

I was told from one of my friend (who is SugarCRM expert
too) that maybe outbound port is blocked by server, hence I also contacted to
the hosting provider (fyi: I am using Hostgator shared hosting plan), but I got
a reply from them:

 

SMTP mail server: smtp.gmail,com
Check the option use SMTP authentication
Port: 465
Enable SSL over TLS >> you have to select SSL from
drop down
Provide the gmail user name and password

Kindly try the same and if you still getting any error,
please contact sugar CRM support as it is outside our scope of support.
