Assigning scheduler to specific campaign

I have created a campaign which runs just fine when I click send emails and send test. I want to use the scheduler to schedule that campaign.

What i've tried is that, in the admin->scheduler, I duplicated the 'Run Nightly Mass Email Campaigns' and changed the execution time. I added the relevant command in the crontab file and from the database records I can see that the scheduler is running (the last run is updated just fine).

The problem is that the emails are not being sent and the email queue list is empty.

1. Why cant I get this to work? Am I doing smth wrong?

2. Is there a way to assign a campaign to a specific scheduler record? Or am I restricted to pick the 'Run Nightly Mass Email Campaigns' and change the calling time? If so, what is the point of duplicating scheduler records?
