Our users have to re-login to the mobile app almost daily. It would be a lot easier and faster for them if they could use fingerprint authentication. It's readily available on both iOS and Android.
Love the feedback. This is on the roadmap. The only thing blocking this capability right now is to have this added to the admin screens so it can be enabled by admins. We are looking for feedback on the following:
That's great news!
We are on Sugar Enterprise 7.6.0 and will likely go to 7.7 next. We do not use any device management.
It will not be in 7.7 but we will continue to monitor this idea and who vote this up and see if can get it in future release
focusing on Android, please consider using the API that Android 6.x (Marshmellow) is providing as this will render any OEM's implementation of fingerprint APIs (Samsung, LG, etc) useless in the near future:

Great feedback Mark and yes i would expect to use the API -- it is supported for Android.
Any update on when this feature could be expected?
When will this be incorporated into the mobile app?
TouchID will be implemented first and is already in progress. It is targeted for early 2017 since we are finishing some major changes before we can finish the biometrics integration.
Just an update for everyone on this thread. We plan to have this in the next major release per your request. For now it's IOS only. If you are interested in Android, please let us know what devices you are using.
Will that be the next major release of the mobile app or Sugar?
It will be with the next major release of the mobile app.
Mobile v5.x now supports TouchID
