Sugar Integrate Quick Start Guide

Once we’ve created a Sugar Integrate organization for you, you should receive an email from our team with your credentials.

 

Based on your needs, you’ll be given credentials to one or more of the following environments:

 

Staging/Trial environment

Staging is limited to 5,000 API calls/mo per authenticated instance. If you exceed this limit, we reserve the right to disable your account or ask you to move into a production environment.

 

Production environments

 

After logging in for the first time, we recommend that you change your password and at least add one more org admin user. Org admin users can add and remove users from your organization and accounts.

 

Your first step in creating a new integration will be to use Adapters to authenticate to your Sugar instance(s) and any 3rd party applications you want to integrate. There are Adapters for Sugar Sell, Sugar Serve, Sugar Enterprise, and Sugar Professional.

 

For Sell/Serve/Ent/Pro instances, you should first make sure you disable IP address validation. This is necessary to prevent your integration from being logged out unexpectedly.

What is Sugar Integrate?

Sugar Integrate is a brand new integration platform as a service (iPaaS), that is purpose-built for Sugar developers so that they can deliver on CX integration needs faster and accelerate business benefits.

 

Sugar Integrate will enable developers and skilled administrators to create programmatic connections between IT systems, applications, and devices in order to sync and share data. It provides integration tooling, a configuration interface, and also pre-built components that make connecting Sugar products to external systems faster and more cost-efficient than building the integrations from scratch. 

 

Sugar Integrate will support connecting to over 200 popular business applications across integration, migration, and community catalogs. Sugar Integrate is compatible with both cloud and on-premise deployments of Sugar Sell, Sugar Serve, Sugar Enterprise, and Sugar Professional.

What are the available Sugar Integrate environments?

Sugar Integrate is currently available in 3 environments in two different AWS regions in US West and EU (Ireland). You’ll know what environment you are using by the URL. 

 

Depending on your needs, you may have organizations within one or more of these environments. Your org and user credentials are going to be different for each environment.

 

What do I need to know about the staging environment vs the production environment?

Staging environment has a 5,000 API call / month limit per authenticated integration instance. If you exceed this limit, we reserve the right to disable your account or ask you to move into a production environment.

 

Features are first released to the staging environment before moving to production. So you can try out cool new features before they hit production, but you are more likely to run into bugs as those get ironed out.

 

Staging environment is only in one region and doesn’t receive the same level of resources or product support as the production environments.

 

Production environments are available to paying customers and key partners.

 

How do I manage users in my Sugar Integrate organization?

The initial user account that we create for a new Sugar Integrate organization will be an Org Admin. It will be that user’s responsibility to add any additional users from your company that need access to the platform.

How do I add another admin?

We recommend designating at least one other Org Admin user who can also add and remove other users. This is done by updating a user to add the Organization Administrator role.

How do I monitor the API usage of my adapter instance?

You can visit the Adapter Metrics section of the Activity panel. From there you can retrieve metrics from the past 30 days.
