A CRM deployment must be a partnership between IT and the business users of the technology. That is the approach Ivo Shotten, CIO of Alere LATAM (a global pharmaceuticals firm recently acquired by Abbott Laboratories) took when implementing Sugar across multiple regions in South America. In addition to the multi-language, multi-currency and sales culture differences involved in such an initiative – Ivo was also looking to integrate Sugar with key systems including Qlik Sense for enhanced business intelligence and SAP for complete ERP integration. Through a solid system of change management, governance and championing the user, the Alere project went live across Brazil, Argentina and Columbia in only a few short months.
