As part of the App Throwdown, we want you and your team, to be able to reach and engage the broader SugarCommunity. In order to do this, you'll need to make sure that you represent yourself well. Here are some specifics that we’d like you to do prior to your submission being accepted. All of these steps should take about 15 minutes.
Edit Your Profile
Ensuring you have a good profile is one of the key ways for people in our community to understand who you are. This is an easy process. Just drop down the menu in the top right and click the link on your name. Then, from the Actions menu, select "Edit profile". See the screen shots below.
When you update your profile...
- Create a meaningful bio
- Add some skills for which you want to be endorsed
- Choose a good avatar (see below)
You can check out my profile as an example.
Update Your Avatar
Next, check your Avatar! You want to make sure you have a nice avatar that reflects who you are. A headshot is recommended.
It's important to build up your "connectedness." In the SugarCommunity, you can not only follow people, e.g. our customer leaders and key "Sugas", but also places, e.g. News, and content, like How to Submit Your App to the App Throwdown!. The more that you are connected, the more influence you can have as we open up more of the engagement capability of the platform. To get started, you should follow Mark Weitzel & Donna Ewart . And while you are at it, you might as well follow a few other key people as well, like Rebecca Jukoski, who is responsible for Sugar's customer reference program, Matt Marum, our Lead Developer Advocate, and Alex Nassi our community manager. (Following is easy, all you need to do is hover over the names above and click the "Follow" button!) Also, make sure to follow the Partner Corner and Welcome to the App Throwdown! spaces too! . You’ll see a “Follow Button” in the upper right of the page.
Sweet! Now you have a great profile!!
