Version 7.9.0.1 Released!

We have officially released version 7.9.0.1 for all commercial editions. SugarCRM recently detected security vulnerabilities that have since been investigated and addressed in this release. As always, we take data security and the protection of your private information very seriously at SugarCRM. We have taken action to minimize potential risks.

Following our investigations, we have no reason to believe that the vulnerabilities were exploited. However, we recommend that you take the immediate steps below to ensure that your data stays protected:

 

On-Demand Customers

If you are hosted in Sugar On-Demand, no action is required as these vulnerabilities and bugs have been patched in our On-Demand environment. If you have additional questions related to how your instance has been affected, please open a case with our support team.

 

On-Site Customers

If you host your instance On-Site (in any environment outside of our Sugar On-Demand environment), please carefully review the following instructions and take the actions outlined below at the earliest opportunity. Failure to take these actions could leave you exposed to malicious attacks:

 

Version 7.9.x

Please visit our Download Manager to download the latest patch for your release, 7.9.0.1, which address these vulnerabilities. Our Installation and Upgrade Guide contains the appropriate guidance to apply these patches to your instance.

 

 

If upgrading now is not an option, please open a case with our support team to request a hotfix for the security vulnerabilities. We will then supply a module loadable package that can be applied to your current version and edition of Sugar. Support tickets can be opened via our portal or by emailing support@sugarcrm.com. Please visit our Download Manager to download the latest patch for your release, 6.5.26, which addresses these vulnerabilities. Community Edition patches are available through SourceForge. Our Installation and Upgrade Guide contains the appropriate guidance to apply this patch to your instance.

SugarCRM is pleased to announce that version 4.5.0 of the Customer Journey Plug-in is now available!

 

This latest release includes the following new features and enhancements:

  • Several journey-specific options such as "Is Customer Journey Meeting" have been added to the list view filters for Sugar's stock Calls, Meetings, and Tasks modules
  • Tasks, calls, and meetings can now be added as sub-activities under the primary activities in Customer Journeys and Customer Journey templates
  • The due date is directly displayed on each open activity in a journey as a color-coded tag
  • The "Blocked By" field is now a multiselect so that activities may be made dependent on one or more blocker activities
  • The Customer Journey modules will be enabled by default in the mobile app

Hint 1.0.0 Released!

SugarCRM is excited to announce the release of Hint!

 

Hint is a relationship intelligence service that brings external information about your contacts and leads into Sugar. Data such as social media accounts, work information, and company details are visible for contacts and leads based on their email address. Users can also quickly import the enhanced data into the Sugar with a single click.

 

The 1.0.0 version of Hint includes the following features:

  • The Hint panel displays external information for Sugar contacts and leads. The panel is available via the Hint dashlet on Contact and Lead record views as well as via the Preview button on Contacts and Leads list views and subpanels.
  • Users can import Hint data to contacts or leads by downloading individual fields or all enhanced data in a single click.
  • When accessing Hint via the Preview button from Contacts and Leads list views or subpanels, an Activity History section lists recent calls, meetings, and emails related to the individual.

Hint is supported for use on Sugar versions 7.8.x and above. Please review the Supported Platforms for Hint before installing. 

 

Hint can be purchased by contacting your Sugar sales representative. If your instance is hosted in Sugar's On-Demand environment, Hint will automatically be installed. If your instance is hosted elsewhere, an admin user must download the Hint package and install it to your instance.

SugarCRM has released version 2.4.0 of the Sugar Plug-in for Microsoft Outlook.

 

This latest release includes the following new features and enhancements:

  • The side panel has received a variety of updates, including: 
    • Key information for synced records is now displayed in Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks views 
    • Lead records can now be created via the Mail view side panel
    • Users can now relate new records to the current record for specific subpanels using the "+" (plus) icon
    • The Emails subpanel is now available to display related emails
    • Users can now load additional related records or close the subpanel back to the default view using the Up and Down arrows in the subpanel
  • Users can now relate Outlook contacts, calls, meetings, and tasks to Sugar records via the "Mark to Sync and Relate" and "Save, Mark to Sync and Relate" options
  • Duplicate checking is performed across all modules where new Sugar records can be created via Outlook
  • Users now have the option to search and select an existing account record when creating leads in Outlook
  • The "Lookup Sugar Address" option now allows users to search and select Sugar contacts and leads as invitees to calls or meetings
  • The Sugar category in Outlook syncs to the Sugar record's Tags field on the initial sync from Outlook to Sugar
  • Additional time frames (1, 2, 3, and 5 minutes) have been added to the "Automatically sync every" option
  • Users can now specify the logging level (e.g. Fatal, Error) to be captured in the log as well as select the log writer type (e.g. File, Windows event log)
  • The Outlook plug-in can now connect to Sugar by uploading your own SSL certificate 
  • Users now have an option to have modules which are hidden in Sugar be displayed in the Outlook plug-in

SugarCRM Mobile 5.1.1 is now live.

 

This latest SugarCRM Mobile release addresses an issue in which TextArea fields are improperly allowed to be inline edited from a module's detail view, as well as a number of cases identified in prior releases. You can review more details about this update through the following release notes:

Sugar has released version 2.1.6 of the IBM Notes Plug-in.

 

This latest release includes updates to improve handling of recurring meetings, an option to "Unsync and Delete" meeting records, and addresses issues identified in prior releases of the IBM Notes Plug-in. Information on fixed bugs can be found in the IBM Notes Plug-in 2.1.6 release notes.

We have officially released SugarCRM Mobile 5.1.0!

This latest release addresses bugs identified in prior releases and includes the following new features and enhancements:

  • Users now have the option to create new records when editing relate-type fields (e.g. Accounts Name).
  • All file types (e.g. .jpg, .gif, .doc, video) can now be downloaded and viewed within the mobile app, and shared (e.g. email, text message) using the available options in your device's share menu.
