Obtain Team Name Using Sugar Logic

To my knowledge, this is not currently possible. You can create a new post here as an Idea. If enough people upvote it, the Sugar Product Management team may consider adding it in a future version. In the mean time, a logic hook is probably going to be the easiest alternative solution. Let me know if you need any help with this.

I was hoping someone had already come across this issue before.I can override the formulahelper.php file or extend Sugar Logic to get the value. It seems like a bug to me since I can get the name of the records from every other related module.

Teams is a bit different than the other modules in Sugar. It's used for permissions, has unique List and Record views, and has many aspects of it hard coded to be a particular way. This is probably why it isn't available in Sugar Logic.

As you mentioned, you can extend Sugar Logic to get access to this on the Formula Builder, but unfortunately I haven't done this before and didn't find anything in my searches for this. Let me know if you have any more questions or if I can help in any other way!

My quick and dirty solution was to add a custom Team Name field (team_name_c) to the modules that I wanted to have the team be available and create a before_save logic hook that took the name of the selected team from the record and store it in the custom field.
